Business Analyst with Insurance background (relocation to Cyprus)

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Business Analyst with a strong background in the insurance industry to join our team in Nicosia, Cyprus. In this role, you will be instrumental in gathering, analyzing, and defining business requirements for web applications tailored to the insurance sector. This position offers a hybrid work model from Cyprus, allowing for a mix of remote and on-site work at EPAM's office.

Responsibilities

1. Elicit, analyze, and manage requirements from stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and documentation.
2. Facilitate effective communication and discussions with stakeholders, including product owners and business analysts from diverse regions.
3. Take ownership of the Product Backlog by defining, prioritizing, and refining tasks to align with business goals.
4. Develop a deep understanding of the product structure, business processes, and data model to enhance project outcomes.
5. Conduct Product Backlog Refinement / Grooming sessions to clarify and update requirements, decompose tasks, and formulate acceptance criteria.
6. Assist the development team in interpreting and clarifying requirements, ensuring accurate implementation of features.
7. Build and maintain comprehensive project documentation to support development and stakeholder communication.
8. Support the QA team with manual and acceptance testing to guarantee the quality of the delivered solutions.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a system or business analyst.
2. Experience in the insurance industry is a must.
3. Proficiency in working with specifications, writing user stories, and crafting acceptance criteria.
4. Strong understanding of the requirements lifecycle and quality criteria.
5. Experience in business process and data modeling to support system design.
6. Ability to structure and compose detailed project documentation.
7. Understanding of the software development lifecycle and its phases.
8. Technical background with knowledge of microservice architecture, RESTful APIs, and database design.
9. Excellent communication and analytical skills, with fluency in English for documentation and calls.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with requirements modeling notations such as UML, BPMN, EPC, DFD, ERD.
• Education or work experience in fintech.
• Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum / Kanban.
• Code reading skills in any programming language.
• Experience in developing a product from scratch.
