Descripción del empleo

Charles Taylor InsureTech is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Data Management team. This role plays a key part in delivering high-impact data solutions to our clients, supporting business intelligence, data migration, and reporting initiatives across core insurance domains.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a solid understanding of insurance operations, and hands-on experience working with data throughout its lifecycle — from analysis and mapping through to validation and user acceptance testing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, actuaries, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that data solutions meet business needs and quality standards.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to transformational projects within the insurance industry, leveraging your skills in data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and documentation, while growing within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze and understand business requirements related to core insurance data (e.g., policies, claims, customers, billing) to support modeling, data migration, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
  2. Collaborate with business stakeholders (such as business analysts, project managers, actuaries, and finance teams) and technical teams to document and validate data requirements.
  3. Define, document, and maintain comprehensive data mapping specifications, including source-to-target field mappings, transformation rules, data cleansing logic, and validation criteria.
  4. Perform detailed data analysis to identify data structures, relationships, quality issues, and anomalies across various source systems.
  5. Translate business rules and requirements into clear, actionable specifications for data development teams (e.g., ETL, reporting).
  6. Work closely with developers and data engineers to ensure that implemented data solutions meet business needs and functional expectations.
  7. Develop and execute data validation strategies and test cases to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  8. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by helping business users validate data outputs and reports.
  9. Identify, investigate, and help resolve data issues, discrepancies, and defects throughout the data lifecycle.
  10. Maintain thorough documentation, including data dictionaries, mapping documents, process flows, and project status updates.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Data or Business Analyst, preferably in data migration and/or reporting projects within the insurance industry.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, data profiling, and data mapping (source-to-target).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and validation.
  • Ability to define and document detailed data transformation rules and validation criteria.
  • Comfortable working in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear functional and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes used in data migration or data integration projects.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality best practices.
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data visualization, and business intelligence tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Actuarial Science, or related field.
