At WPP Finance, we are seeking a 'General Ledger Accountant'.

What are we looking for?

1. Good knowledge of the General Accounting Plan to analyze items and detect recording errors, ensuring compliance with French GAAP and IFRS standards.
2. Experience in analyzing financial information, guaranteeing its integrity, accuracy, and consistency (balance sheet, profit and loss accounts, customer and supplier aging, management ratios).
3. Experience in reporting: reviewing and reconciling information, loading data into reporting platforms following standardized structures for the Group, analyzing variations, and investigating their origins.
4. Performing reconciliations between accounting and auxiliary modules, including customer and supplier accounts and intercompany balances, detecting differences, and following up.
5. Preparation and review of general accounting entries: expenses and income provisions, sales adjustments, tax regularization, PPE additions/removals, etc.
6. Preparing specific reports from financial systems for management presentation.
7. Making recommendations to optimize management and improve procedures.
8. Experience in Statutory Auditing and knowledge of SOX controls are highly valued.

Requirements:

• Over 5 years of experience in international financial accounting or audit departments.
• Mandatory knowledge of the French General Accounting Plan.
• Experience working with deadlines, databases, and generating summary reports.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Languages: French C1 (must), English B2/C1 (highly desirable).
• Based in Madrid.
