The Analyst supports the monitoring and assignment of new covered bond ratings, initially focused on a specific subset and region. The jobholder regularly supports other analysts in the analysis and writing of insightful credit research related to covered bonds or related bank or structured finance topics. He is very proficient in market research, data mining and analysis. The analyst occasionally accompanies senior analysts to operational review visits and other client meetings.

Duties & Responsibilities

• May act as lead analyst or support the analysis and monitoring of covered bond ratings.
• Supports the production of covered bond rating reports and press releases.
• Monitors market developments and produces light research under supervision.
• Provides administrative assistance to senior analysts.
• Supports the development of existing and new analytical tools, contributes to the improvement of workflow tools.
• Runs and evaluates model results.
• Creates and monitors peer groups.
• Introduces colleagues to new topics and passes on knowledge within the team.
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience in the financial industry or equivalent field.
• Strong analytical skills either qualitative or quantitative or both, with a solid understanding of financial markets.
• Some familiarity with European banking and covered bond frameworks.
• Numerical proficiency and ability to apply knowledge is a prerequisite, including an advanced understanding of Excel or other statistical, database or financial tools (SNL, Bloomberg).
• Experience in research writing, quantitative modelling, legal analysis, credit etc.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good administration skills with attention to detail.
• Able and willing to work to tight deadlines.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
