Job summary

China Three Gorges (Europe) S.A is seeking a BESS Project Manager to lead utility-scale energy storage projects from notice to proceed through commissioning and COD. You will coordinate internal departments, EPC contractors, OEMs, and grid operators while managing plans, budgets, risks, and resources.

The role requires extensive travel and base proximity to project sites, with emphasis on HSE, regulatory compliance, and successful handover to operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years in Project Management; 10+ years in related working experience.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Experience as Project Manager in EPC renewable energy projects from RtB to COD.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution and delivery of utility-scale BESS projects from NTP through COD.
• Serve as primary point of contact between internal departments, EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants and grid operators.
• Develop and monitor project execution plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers and resource plans.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure milestones are met and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
• Oversee contracting, change orders, claims and variations in coordination with legal, procurement and finance teams.
• Ensure permitting, environmental, interconnection, land and regulatory requirements are satisfied.
• Coordinate technical reviews including engineering, FAT, SAT and commissioning procedures.
• Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring design adherence and safety.
• Ensure interface management between BESS systems, substations, transmission, SCADA, EMS.
• Promote HSE culture and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Willingness to travel extensively and be based near project sites.
