Kena by Akiro, located on the rooftop of El Fuerte Marbella 5*, combines Nikkei dining with signature mixology. We are seeking a dedicated Barback to join our luxury rooftop team in Marbella, Spain, delivering seamless beverage service and maintaining high standards.

You will support bartenders, manage mise en place, restock supplies, keep glassware spotless, and assist with stock control during busy service hours.

Formación

• 2+ years as Barback or Bar Assistant in high-end venues.
• Vocational degree in Restaurant Management or similar.
• B2 level English and fluent Spanish.
• Experience with bar mise en place and stock control.
• Knowledge of mixology is a plus.

Therefore, we are seeking a dedicated, team-oriented Barback to join our beverage support team in Marbella, Spain.

In this operational support role, you will act as a key backbone for our rooftop bar team. Specifically, you will prepare bar stations, replenish ice, fruits, and syrups during busy service hours, maintain glassware cleanliness, and assist bartenders in delivering seamless beverage service. By doing so, you will combine your attention to detail with strict standards of service, stock control, and hygiene.

Your Mission: Bar Support Excellence & Service Speed

Your primary goal involves supporting beverage operations across our rooftop Nikkei dining space. To achieve this, you will deliver efficient bar preparation and continuous supply replenishment. At the same time, you will keep the bar area beautifully organized. You will also align your workstation with strict resort standards. Therefore, you will manage daily bar mise en place, clean glassware, restock supplies, and assist bartenders during peak service hours. As a result, you will eliminate service bottlenecks and protect our restaurant’s reputation for luxury excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Bartender Assistance: Support the bartender team in beverage prep and service execution across various bar stations.
• Mise en Place & Station Setup: Prepare bar stations before service and execute opening and closing checklists accurately.
• Continuous Replenishment: Restock ice, fresh fruits, syrups, mixers, and essential ingredients throughout the shift.
• Glassware & Utensil Care: Collect, clean, organize, and store glassware and bar utensils efficiently to ensure continuous availability.
• Stock Control Collaboration: Assist the Bar Manager with stock management, inventory tracking, and beverage restocking.
• Cleanliness & Order: Maintain workstation hygiene, organization, and visual standards across all bar areas before, during, and after service.

Who You Are: The Reliable & Proactive Bar Essential

• Proven Foundations: You bring at least 2 years of experience as a Barback or Bar Assistant. Ideally, you gained this background in high-end restaurants or Michelin-level establishments.
• Educational Background: You possess a Vocational Degree (Grado Medio/Superior) in Restaurant Management or similar, along with practical knowledge of mixology.
• The Linguist: You display B2-level proficiency in English alongside fluent Spanish. Knowledge of additional international languages is considered a valuable asset.
• Technical Skills: You feel comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools for basic logging tasks. Moreover, you display strong operational discipline and speed.
• Key Competencies: You demonstrate strong teamwork, physical stamina, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude in high-volume environments.
