Description
We are a vibrant and bustling sports bar located in the heart of Puerto de la Duquesa (Manilva), a favourite destination for football fans and tourists alike, that is part of a broader hospitality group operating as a cluster in the same central square in the port. Known for our lively atmosphere, great drinks, and the best spot to watch live sports, we are looking for an experienced, professional and energetic Bar Manager to lead our team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations for the upcoming season (starting in March). The candidate will:
- Oversee the daily operations of the bar (including opening and closing), ensuring exceptional customer service at all times.
- Be responsible for finishing certain minor reform works prior to opening in April.
- Recruit and manage a team of bartenders, providing leadership, training, and motivation.
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked, clean, and well-maintained.
- Develop and implement promotions, events, and themed nights to drive footfall, particularly during major sports events.
- Handle customer complaints and ensure a welcoming and fun atmosphere for all patrons.
- Work closely with suppliers to manage inventory and control costs.
- Manage staff rotas, payroll, and recruitment where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain strong relationships with regular customers and foster a positive, energetic work environment.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience (3+ years) as a Bar Manager with references is essential.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Passion for sports and ability to create a lively, engaging environment during big games.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Experience in stock management, budgeting, and cost control.
- A friendly, approachable personality with a customer-first attitude who is well spoken with excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations. Ability to safeguard a comfortable and festive environment for customers, handle customer complaints and diffuse conflict with unruly customers.
The ideal candidate will be fully flexible to work shifts including day, evening and weekend shifts. 40 hours per week.
