Rover Barcelona is seeking a Software Engineer to strengthen our datastore-focused backend platform. You will manage PostgreSQL and MySQL instances, oversee upgrades, and build self-service tooling to improve reliability and scalability of Rover's databases.

You will work closely with the lead Database Engineer, review migrations, and implement automation using Python and Terraform-based tooling. Hybrid work in Barcelona two days per week is required.

Formación

• Computer Science or equivalent background.
• 3+ years as a Fullstack or Backend Engineer (preferably in Django/Python).
• Solid knowledge and understanding of databases, schema design and database fundamentals (MySQL/PostgreSQL/AWS RDS).
• Experience using and managing AWS products, with a focus on operating, maintaining, and diagnosing issues within production environments.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code (eg: Terraform or CDK).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog/Cloudwatch or ELK stack.

Responsabilidades

• Design, manage, and upgrade Rover's datastore environments (PostgreSQL/MySQL) for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product teams to drive datastore scalability and migrations review.
• Build self-service automation tools to streamline database operations and reporting.
• Partner with developers to review migrations and optimize database performance.
• Monitor system health using Datadog/CloudWatch and participate in on-call rotations.
