Job summary

LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our Gaming Team in Málaga, focusing on Java/Spring Boot microservices, cloud deployment, and scalable API design. You will develop and maintain microservices, integrate new gaming providers, collaborate with frontend teams, and ensure observability and performance across distributed systems to support 1.3 billion transactions per month.

The role offers a hybrid work model with two days from home, a culture of continuous learning,

Qualifications

3+ years backend development with Java, Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate.
Hands-on experience building scalable RESTful microservices.
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
Experience implementing resilience patterns (retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation).
Experience designing monitoring dashboards (metrics, logs, traces) and alerts.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining microservices using Java, Spring Boot and JPA.
Integrating new gaming providers into the platform via APIs.
Collaborating with frontend teams to expose game data via APIs.
Optimising the performance and scalability of backend systems.
Ensuring services are production-ready, observable and maintainable through monitoring and alerting.
Taking ownership, solving problems and collaborating across teams.
