Job summary

LeoVegas is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud-based microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and JPA. You will integrate gaming providers via APIs, collaborate with frontend teams to expose game data, and optimize backend performance for a scalable gaming platform.

You will work on production-ready services with strong observability, dashboards, and alerts, taking ownership and collaborating across teams in a fast-paced gaming environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development with Java, Spring (Boot) and JPA/Hibernate
• Hands-on experience building highly scalable RESTful microservices
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
• Experience implementing resilience patterns (e.g. retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation)
• Experience designing monitoring dashboards (metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to detect issues proactively

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining microservices using Java, Spring Boot and JPA
• Integrating new gaming providers into the platform via APIs
• Collaborating with frontend teams to expose game data via APIs
• Optimising the performance and scalability of backend systems
• Ensuring services are production-ready, observable and maintainable through monitoring and alerting
• Taking ownership, solving problems and collaborating across teams
