Pluxee is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer in Zaragoza to join the Payments Squad and shape the engine that moves money globally. You will design resilient services, evolve distributed architectures, and lead with a focus on data consistency and fault tolerance.

You will work closely with React/React Native teams, apply AI-assisted coding, and drive high-quality testing, observability, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, international environment.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience developing production-grade applications.
• Experience within the Node.js ecosystem is a plus.
• Distributed systems mastery: race conditions, eventual consistency, idempotency, message brokers.
• Payments mind-set: banking systems, payment gateways, ledger systems, or reconciliation processes are a plus.
• AI-empowered developer: using AI tools for problem-solving, code generation, and workflow optimization.
• Problem-solving DNA for high-concurrency environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design for Resilience: Build and optimize robust backend services capable of handling high-volume traffic while ensuring 100% data consistency and system reliability.
• Evolve Distributed Architectures: Understand the complexities of existing systems and evolve them into scalable, event-driven architectures to meet future global product requirements.
• High-Stakes Quality: In Payments, there is no room for error. You will be responsible for comprehensive testing (unit, integration, and acceptance) as well as advanced load and performance simulations.
• Operational Excellence & Observability: Monitor service health in production, using observability tools to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks or anomalies.
• Technical Leadership: Share your expertise through deep code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and documenting engineering standards that elevate the entire squad.
• AI-Driven Execution : Actively leverage AI tools and coding assistants on a daily basis to accelerate development cycles, automate repetitive tasks, and optimize overall team processes and delivery speed.

Our Technical Stack

• Backend Core: Node.Js (TypeScript), NestJS (or similar frameworks).
• Data & State: MongoDB (Atlas), Redis for caching and distributing locking and PosgreSQL for our ledger database
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD (deploying multiple times daily).
• Observability: Sentry and Datadog/New Relic for real-time monitoring.
• AI & Productivity: GitHub Copilot, Claude Sonnet, ChatGPT, and other GenAI assistants.
• Collaboration: GitHub, GitLab, Slack, JIRA, Notion.

(Note: You will collaborate closely with our React/React Native teams, but your focus will be 100% Backend).

Proven Senior Expertise

• 5+ years of experience developing production-grade applications.
• Experience within the Node.Js ecosystem will be a plus.
• Distributed Systems Mastery: Deep understanding of race conditions, eventual consistency, idempotency, and message brokers.
• The\ "Payments Mindset\": experience with banking systems, payment gateways (Stripe, Adyen, etc.), ledger systems, or reconciliation processes will be a plus.
• AI-Empowered Developer : A strong inclination to lean on AI tools for problem-solving, code generation, and workflow optimization, always looking for ways to work smarter and improve team efficiency.
• Problem-Solving DNA: A systematic approach to troubleshooting complex issues in high-concurrency environments.
