Fotocasa Group, Spain’s real estate tech leaders, invites a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Tech Team in Barcelona. You’ll build services used by millions, shaping backend strategy and collaborating across product squads.

The role emphasizes real-time alerting, microservices, Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot/Spring Cloud, and strong ownership. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality, security, testing, observability, and scalable systems.

Formación

• 5+ years of backend development experience in high-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud.
• Experience building real-time alerting systems.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and scalability.
• Adherence to SOLID, security, testing, observability practices.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze core problems and develop targeted hypotheses with the team.
• Validate ideas via iterative development and a fail-fast mindset.
• Collaborate to execute strategic backend initiatives from the roadmap.

As a Backend Engineer, you will work in one of the product teams by providing services and solutions that would help millions of users.

What You’ll Do:

• Solve Complex Challenges: Partner closely with the team to analyze core problems and develop targeted hypotheses to address them.
• Drive Innovation through Experimentation: Validate ideas using iterative development and a "fail-fast" mindset to find the best solutions quickly.
• Shape Backend Strategy: Collaborate with the wider Backend community to execute and promote key strategic initiatives from our roadmap.
• Enable Cross-Team Alignment: Coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure our technical solutions are delivered effectively and on time.
• Champion Best Practices: Actively participate in the Backend guild to maintain high technical standards and consistency across the organization.

Technical skills

• Real-Time Alerting: Strong expertise in building and maintaining real-time alerting systems.
• Backend Expertise: 5+ years of experience in backend development, specializing in high-scale distributed systems.
• Tech Stack: Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with deep experience in microservices (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).
• Containers & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, ECS, or Docker Swarm.
• Data Streaming: Experience with stream processing tools, specifically Kafka.
• System Architecture: Deep understanding of system architecture, microservices design patterns, and performance optimization.
• Engineering Best Practices: Strong advocate for SOLID principles, security, testing, observability, and scalability.
• CI/CD & Git: Advanced expertise in Git workflows for large-scale codebases and CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile Methodology: Proven experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
• Ownership & Drive: Self-starter and detail-oriented professional capable of delivering projects with minimal supervision.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with a track record of collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
