We’re backed by top venture capitalists in the blockchain space and led by experts from one of Europe’s leading web3 technology and security firms, known for auditing and consulting on major industry projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge blockchain project and contribute to the development of an innovative platform from the ground up.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting and developing our backend systems using Nest.js. Working closely with frontend developers, blockchain engineers, and product designers, you’ll build high-performance applications to power a state-of-the-art decentralized exchange. You’ll also mentor junior developers, contribute to solution architecture, and collaborate on strategic planning with the leadership team.

• Lead backend development for blockchain applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
• Architect and develop systems for a crypto asset derivatives exchange, including real-time order book management and data processing.
• Integrate multiple data sources and APIs, ensuring robust security and data integrity for high-frequency transactions.
• Optimize backend performance for low latency and high throughput in financial applications.
• Collaborate with frontend teams on API design and system integrations for highly responsive applications.
• Participate in solution design to meet security, performance, and accessibility standards.
• Mentor junior team members, review code, and promote best practices.
• Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to align on project timelines and requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with 2+ years specifically in Nest.js.
• Deep expertise in both SQL and NoSQL databases, understanding their use in high-speed transaction environments.
• Strong experience with real-time systems and WebSocket implementation for live data streaming.
• Proven experience in team leadership, project planning, and backend project management.
• Understanding of blockchain technology and Web3 frameworks.
• Prior experience in a DeFi or blockchain-focused environment.
• Familiarity with smart contract interactions and libraries like Web3.js or Ethers.js.
