Key Information:

Team: Back Office Wholesale trading Gas

Location: Campus Repsol Madrid

Level of Expertise: 2+ years in back office of natural gas, LNG or other commodity trading operations

Responsibilities:

The position belongs to Back Office (within the Control and Administration EU Management Unit). The Back Office team will be responsible for a variety of activities related to physical and derivatives Natural Gas and LNG trading, including:

1. Settlement of invoices and payments
2. Reconciliation of data to ETRM systems
3. Regulatory reporting

Among the role's responsibilities will be to work closely with several departments, particularly Front Office, Confirmations, Credit, Global Services, Compliance, and have direct exposure to external counterparties.

Main Tasks:

1. Perform tasks required for settlement of physical and derivatives NG and LNG transactions, including generating system invoices, manual invoices, reconciling to counterparty invoices, analyzing, and resolving differences with counterparties.
2. Perform tasks related to payment processing, ensuring all back-office payments are interfaced or otherwise conveyed to Global Services in a timely manner.
3. Reporting to the CNMV, Cores, EMIR, REMIT (among others) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
4. Liaising with Compliance team, Regulators, and Exchanges to ensure that all compliance requirements are met.
5. Act as the focal point for any issues or inquiries regarding regulatory reporting, both internally and externally.
6. Coordinate with Process Support/IT team the automation of regulatory reporting tasks.
7. Review and assure new business activities taking place within the Wholesale Gas Trading are correctly included in the regulatory reporting and ensuring relevant governance requirements are met.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Maths, Business Administration...)
2. English Advanced level
3. A minimum of 2+ years in back office of natural gas, LNG or other commodity trading operations, or corresponding applicable work experience.
4. Good market knowledge, preferably in gas/LNG, will be well regarded.
5. Familiarity with processes related to capturing wholesale natural gas transactions in ETRM systems.
6. Microsoft Excel advanced user. Familiarity with SAP, Allegro or other ETRM preferred.
7. Knowledge of process automation/RPA tools (functional or technical).
