Formación

• 7+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect or Platform Architect.

Our client, a Technological Company, is searching for a full-time Data Platform Architect. Working in the Ground Systems department, and reporting to the Head of Data & AI Platform, the Data Platform Architect will lead architectural design decisions for the Data & AI platforms. The Data Platform Architect is a key role in the company, that will work with a range of interdisciplinary teams and departments involved in the Data&AI pipeline. The Data Platform Architect will take a leading role in designing the Company Data & AI platforms, working closely with the central Cloud IT team and with the individual Data Product teams, ensuring the adoption of best practices and its implementation throughout the software lifecycle.

About the Role

The Data Platform Architect will lead architectural design decisions for the Data & AI platforms, ensuring cost-efficient, performant, and resilient operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design decisions for the Data&AI platforms, for cost efficient, performant and resilient operations.
• Implement the Data&AI platforms, employing the best state-of-practice for Data Products based on cloud technologies, such as Azure Kubernetes, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions and Azure VMs., Azure Virtual Network, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Firewall, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Key Vault.
• Infrastructure Management : Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Azure-based data platform services. Optimize resource utilization and ensure high performance.
• Security and Compliance : Ensure compliance of Company platforms with security standards. Implement robust security measures to protect data and data applications, in accordance with the central Cloud IT team policies and Data Governance Framework policies.
• Cost Optimization : Monitor and manage resource utilisation and associated cloud expenses over the Data&AI platforms. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, while maintaining performance and scalability.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity : Work with the central IT Cloud team to design and implement strategies to ensure data and application availability during disruptions and over multiple regions.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, IT staff, and business stakeholders, to align cloud strategies.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Continuously monitor Data & AI platforms for performance and reliability. Address issues promptly to minimize any impact on operations.
• Documentation and Training : Create detailed documentation for cloud architectures and processes. Stay up-to-date with the latest Data&AI technologies and trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• 7+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect or Platform Architect, for big data platforms and applications, with deep knowledge of cloud services and technologies, and with experience in cloud platform and software product development lifecycles.
• Experience with Infrastructure as a Code.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience working with diverse international teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with the Azure Cloud and its services.
• Knowledge in Lakehouse and data mesh architectures.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals in areas such as : Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence processes; GIS software products; Data and AI pipelines, including DevOps and MLOps.
• Experience with the ESRI or Databricks technology stacks.
• Relevant certifications in Azure and cloud technologies.
• Masters & other higher-level education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in Spanish.
• International work experience.
