What we look for

We seek an experienced Principal Software Engineer (Azure Architect) to lead Azure-based projects, ensure optimal solution architecture, and mentor our team to deliver high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will be a cloud-native Azure expert, with deep expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Durable Functions, and hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. You will help define, structure, and implement solutions, while training and guiding our internal team in areas of limited experience.

This is a 100% remote position for candidates located in Spain.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor the team on Azure technologies, specifically ADF and Durable Functions. Guide best practices for cloud-native development.
2. Database Architecture: Assist in structuring and choosing between SQL and NoSQL solutions based on requirements, ensuring scalability and effectiveness.
3. Solution Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and optimize scalable Azure solutions to meet business needs.
4. Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to ensure the team has the necessary skills and knowledge, fostering a collaborative environment.
5. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams for seamless project execution.
6. Continuous Learning: Keep updated with the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
7. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and databases.

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven experience with Azure cloud technologies, especially ADF and Durable Functions.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB).
• Experience designing scalable, performant, and secure cloud data solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making based on business needs.
• Ability to train and mentor teams on new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Minimum of 7 years in a similar role or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).

Desirable Skills

• Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure SQL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.
