Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant tech experience. Good knowledge of software development tools and methodologies. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Do you have a passion for Startups? Would you like to help early startup companies grow and thrive? AWS is looking for a Solutions Architect to support EMEA programs for early-stage cloud-based startups. In this role, you will own the technical aspects of scalable initiatives that will enable early-stage startups in EMEA to develop their ventures. You will be customer facing and interact directly with early stage startups as they iterate. You will act as a trusted advisor that helps customers make the best (and sometimes the most pragmatic) technical decisions along the way. You will interact with technical co-founders, CTOs, and engineers and guide them on their journey to success. You'll be able to engage in technical and architectural discussions in 1:1 and 1:few settings - as well as drive the broader technical strategy for the wider team. You will get to practice your creativity, linking technology to tangible solutions and educating Startups about the art of the possible. Internally, you will be the voice of the customer, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. You will lead the technical aspects of new and existing startup programs designed to provide early-stage tech founders with resources, guidance, and a community of peers.
2. Act as CTO-in-residence and mentor first-time CTOs and founders. You will own the technical relationship with the startups and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide.
3. Work directly with customers to accelerate their projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.
4. Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
5. Create and deliver content, sessions, workshops, and round-tables focused on a variety of day-to-day CTO challenges.
6. Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform.
7. Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching, and mentoring others.
8. CTO/co-founder experience for a VC-backed technology startup company or strong interest in the Startup ecosystem.
9. Experience in a customer-facing, sales-aligned role including public speaking experience.
10. Professional experience architecting/building/operating solutions built on AWS.
11. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification.
12. Experience in building and leading development teams.
13. Technical depth in at least one particular domain, and/or platform: DevOps, Data & Analytics, Machine Learning, Serverless computing, Containers, Databases, etc.
