AWS Databricks - Platform Engineer(Snowflake)

Location : Spain / Poland (Remote)

Job Type : 6+ months of contract with possibility of extension

Responsibilities :

1. Focus on platform engineering for Snowflake, not just development.
2. Evaluate Snowflake for data processing, storage, and analytics, considering security, scalability, performance, and cost.
3. Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and guidelines for data engineering to ensure quality, reliability, and consistency in Snowflake.
4. Research, test, benchmark, and assess new Snowflake features, providing recommendations for integration.
5. Develop and implement Snowflake-based solutions aligned with business strategies and architectural considerations, ensuring scalability and extensibility.
6. Optimize Snowflake performance through tuning and troubleshooting to maximize efficiency.
7. Identify bottlenecks and opportunities within Snowflake, driving improvements through action or influencing peers and leadership.
8. Deploy Snowflake following best practices and facilitate knowledge transfer for ongoing capability extension.
9. Engage with customers to demonstrate and communicate Snowflake best practices.
10. Support sales efforts by providing demos, proof-of-concept, and implementation support, showcasing Snowflake's value.
11. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Market teams to enhance Snowflake solutions.
12. Apply expertise with AWS and cloud-based data services like Snowflake.
13. Leverage software engineering and analytical skills to solve large-scale business challenges.
14. Utilize modern data tools like Matillion, Fivetran, DBT, Airflow, and Astronomer.
15. Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, implementing best practices for data protection.
16. Understand the complete data analytics stack, from ETL to BI tools.
17. Demonstrate expertise in large-scale databases, data warehouses, ETL, and cloud technologies, including Data Lakes, Data Mesh, and Data Fabric.
18. Bridge business challenges with Snowflake solutions, aligning data architecture with customer needs.
19. Conduct deep discovery of customer architecture frameworks and integrate them with Snowflake architecture.
