AWS Data Architect - Senior Position

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect to lead our clients' digital transformation through innovative cloud data solutions. In this strategic position, you will be the principal architect of enterprise data ecosystems, designing scalable solutions that drive data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Create reusable blueprints and reference patterns for data solutions
• Establish data governance standards and security best practices
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies within the AWS ecosystem

Technical Leadership

• Mentor data engineering teams on complex implementations
• Lead architectural review sessions and technical validation
• Collaborate with solution architects to integrate data capabilities
• Facilitate technical workshops with key stakeholders

Consulting & Client Engagement

• Act as senior technical consultant on digital transformation projects
• Present technical solutions to C-level executives and decision makers
• Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives
• Participate in full pre-sales and delivery lifecycle

Required Technical Profile

Core AWS Competencies

• Storage Services: S3, EFS, FSx with lifecycle strategies
• Processing: EMR, Glue, Batch, ECS/EKS for data workloads
• Analytics: Athena, QuickSight, OpenSearch, Kinesis Analytics
• Databases: RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Neptune
• Advanced proficiency in Apache Spark (Scala/Python/Java)
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, HBase, Oozie)
• Knowledge of streaming platforms: Kafka, Kinesis, MSK
• Experience with modern data warehousing (dbt, Snowflake as plus)

DevOps & Automation

• IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK (preferably Python/TypeScript)
• CI/CD: GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline
• Experience implementing Data Mesh and Data Fabric
• Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture with EventBridge
• Familiarity with Microservices and Serverless patterns
• Experience with Real-time analytics and CDC patterns
• AWS Certifications: Solutions Architect Professional, Data Analytics Specialty
• Programming Languages: Python (advanced), Scala, Java, R
• Orchestration Tools: Airflow, Step Functions, Prefect
• Industry Experience: Fintech, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing
• Methodologies: Agile, DataOps, MLOps
• Excellent technical communication and presentation skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Technical leadership and team mentoring capabilities
• Strategic thinking and architectural vision
• Adaptability to high-velocity, constantly changing environments
