Automation Service Technician

Position Overview

This position reports to the Service Operations Manager.

Your Role and Responsibilities

1. Lead engineering solutions in Metals and Pulp & Paper markets, including programming DCS (PLCs and HMIs), defining bill of materials, developing electrical control system plans, and communication systems.
2. Conduct FAT tests, commissioning, and collaborate with project managers, sales, customers, and engineering teams across multiple locations.
3. Provide technical support through on-call service, with at least one week every three weeks, ensuring 24h availability for corrective maintenance.
4. Adapt work hours to customer needs, including weekends and public holidays, and be willing to travel (~40%-60%) for commissioning and service activities, primarily domestically.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of proven project engineering experience in HW & SF design, commissioning, maintenance, and technical assistance.
• Knowledge of Metals and Pulp & Paper control industries is preferred.
• B.Eng or M.Eng. in Automation, Software, Electronics, Systems, or Instrumentation.
• Experience with ABB Software (800xA, AC800M, AC400 Advant Master) and industrial protocols (IEC61850, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC).
• Understanding of functional safety standards and project practices.
• Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a valid driving license.
