Position : Associate, Venture Capital Fund of Funds

Location : Barcelona (Hybrid or Remote)

Reports to : Managing Partner

Role Overview

As an Associate, you will play a critical role in our investment process, supporting all aspects of fund evaluation, due diligence, and portfolio management. You will work closely with senior team members to identify, assess, and monitor investments in venture capital funds and, occasionally, direct startup investments. This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to the global venture capital ecosystem and build deep expertise in fund investing.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate new fund investment opportunities through market research, networking, and analysis of fund managers’ track records.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on venture capital funds, including financial analysis, reference checks, and assessment of investment strategies and operational capabilities.
• Build and maintain relationships with fund managers, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing investment memoranda, presentations, and recommendations for the investment committee.
• Support ongoing monitoring of portfolio funds, including performance tracking, reporting, and participation in annual meetings.
• Analyze market trends, sector developments, and emerging technologies to inform investment decisions36.
• Contribute to internal projects, knowledge sharing, and process improvement initiatives.
• Support investor relations by helping prepare quarterly reports, updates, and communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc, CFA) is a plus.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a startup environment.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with financial modelling and valuation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Demonstrated interest in venture capital, fund investing, and emerging technologies.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
