Offer Description

IQS is currently looking for candidates starting in the 2025-2026 academic year to fill the position of :

Associate Professor in Engineering (Profesor / a Contratado / a Doctor / a) to join the Department of Industrial Engineering for teaching and developing research activities as well as other academic duties. Main job functions include :

1. Teaching various topics of industrial engineering related to human-machine interaction and digitalization.
2. Developing research in the priority topics included in IQS and Ramon Llull University scientific policy, integrating and coordinating with research activities of the Department of Industrial Engineering.
3. Actively engaging in securing competitive research funding, establishing and participating in projects of technology transfer, and establishing internal collaborative research programs with other professors and researchers at IQS.
4. Establishing and fostering international research collaborations.

Minimum Requirements :

1. PhD in Engineering, mainly in digitalization and related areas.
2. Postdoctoral or industrial experience – preferably international – in the field of Mechatronics or related areas.
3. A track record of research publications in international journals and/or patents.
4. Teaching experience in Engineering courses at bachelor or master level with a strong experimental approach.
5. Participation and/or leadership in competitive research projects and securing external funding.
6. Good level of English to be able to teach in this language.
7. Accreditation of teaching and/or research activity by national evaluation agencies or having enough merits to obtain it.
8. Experience in industrial projects working with actuators and sensors, integrating electronic devices. Availability to acquire data for applications in medical devices, bioengineering, chemical, and industrial sectors.

Shortlisted applicants invited for interview will be asked to make a presentation of their research.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a first interview with the Dean of IQS School of Management and the Director of People & Organization of IQS. The finalist candidates will have to make a presentation to a selection panel.
