Job description

About the Role

The Business Intelligence Associate Director will help build and scale a world-class BI capability for Global Revenue Operations at Wolters Kluwer. As a senior individual contributor, this role will partner with Revenue Operations leadership to turn complex commercial, financial, and operational data into trusted insights, scalable reporting, and actionable recommendations. The Associate Director will own high-impact BI initiatives from problem definition through design, build, adoption, and continuous improvement. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to move confidently between executive conversations and hands‑on solution development. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter who thrives in ambiguity, adapts quickly, and delivers high-quality outcomes with limited oversight.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Revenue Operations leaders to identify critical business questions and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
  • Design and build executive dashboards, scorecards, reporting, and analytical products that expose performance, risk, and opportunity.
  • Convert complex data into clear insights, compelling narratives, and actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Lead high‑impact BI initiatives from requirements and solution design through build, deployment, adoption, and optimisation.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis to explain performance drivers and identify opportunities for commercial and operational improvement.
  • Define and standardise KPIs, business definitions, calculation logic, and reporting methodologies.
  • Build and optimise data models, semantic layers, queries, and ETL/ELT workflows across multiple source systems.
  • Strengthen data quality, governance, validation controls, documentation, lineage, and auditability.
  • Enable self‑service analytics through intuitive solutions, trusted datasets, training, and stakeholder support.
  • Simplify the reporting landscape by eliminating duplication, automating manual processes, and retiring low‑value outputs.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, FP&A, Accounting, IT, Data Engineering, and other functions to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Influence priorities and decisions as a trusted BI partner to senior leadership.
  • Provide technical guidance, share best practices, and raise BI capability across the broader organisation.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to apply advanced analytics, automation, and AI within Revenue Operations.
Skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Data 360, Snowflake & Data Lakes
  • Trusted partnership with senior business leaders
  • Hands‑on BI development and end‑to‑end solution ownership
  • Executive dashboards, visualisation and analytical storytelling
  • Advanced SQL, data modelling, semantic layers and ETL/ELT
  • Commercial insight, root‑cause analysis and structured problem‑solving
  • Data governance, quality, controls and metric definition
  • Influence without authority and clear executive communication
  • High agency, adaptability and strong delivery focus
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT/Data Technology, Accounting or Finance

Experience: 7+ years in BI, analytics, data strategy, Revenue Operations or Commercial Operations. Proven success independently delivering complex, high‑impact BI solutions. Strong experience with BI platforms, enterprise data, SQL and ETL/ELT. Experience with CCH Tagetik or an equivalent planning platform is an advantage.
