We are currently accepting applications for an Associate Director to support our Comparative Effectiveness department. This is a key position with opportunities for growth and advancement. The incumbent will work closely with project leaders and clients on various projects.
Responsibilities
- Statistical modeling in health economics: survival analysis, longitudinal modeling, etc.
- Evidence synthesis: guiding systematic literature review development for meta-analysis, meta-regression, etc.
- Developing and modeling in comparative effectiveness: indirect treatment comparison, network meta-analysis (NMA), network meta-regression (NMR), etc.
- Advanced comparative effectiveness methods: STC, MAIC, complex matchings, crossover analysis.
Specific Day-to-Day Activities
- Consulting in HE / HTA statistics (~80% of work): collaborating with the Comparative Effectiveness team to produce high-quality indirect treatment comparison analyses and reports.
- Working closely with systematic review and health economics teams to support clients' research goals and HTA submissions.
- Serving as a technical advisor on projects, guiding junior staff and clients on appropriate methods for research questions, focusing on comparative effectiveness and advanced ITC methods.
- Managing a small team of research associates (RCs / SRCs).
- Preparing reports for comparative effectiveness analyses, population matching, and other technical deliverables, including quality control.
- This is a technical position requiring skills in statistics, mathematics, and regression analysis. Writing skills are an asset but not the primary focus.
- Mentoring team members and fostering open communication and research culture.
- Performing other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in statistics, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, or health economics, with 8+ years of experience in healthcare settings (consulting, pharma, government).
- Hands-on experience in indirect treatment comparisons: NMA, ML-NMR, MAIC, STC.
- Experience in quantitative health outcomes, health economics, or outcome research is strongly preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in R.
- Experience with causal inference methods and Bayesian inference is an asset.
- Experience with QBA is an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Methodical, disciplined, diligent, well-organized, and professional.
- Able to work independently and in teams.
- Extremely detail-oriented and efficient.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Advanced English proficiency required.
- A track record of publications is strongly preferred.
- Experience interacting with HTA agencies and managing recurring client revenue streams is preferred.
