Morningstar in Madrid is seeking a Data Research Analyst to process data across global markets. You will work with the Global Data Team and Local Business Representatives to ensure data coverage, quality, and timeliness to the highest standards.

The role reports to the Associate Data Manager and is based in the Madrid Data and Development Center, offering a hybrid work model with strong collaboration across global colleagues.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
  • Additional European language is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of the financial industry and investment data.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsabilidades

  • Actively collect & processing managed investment data to meet timelines and accuracy targets.
  • Collaborate closely with global data teams.
  • Be the data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, and fund structures.
  • Manage relationships with fund companies and data providers; set up acquisition channels.
  • Meet production deadlines for internal and external clients.
  • Evaluate procedures and create analytical tools; drive process improvements.
  • Translate internal client requests into detailed specs and user stories.
  • Document client use cases to ensure new functionality meets expectations.

The Role

Our EMEA Managed Investment Data Operations team is looking for a Data Research Analyst to process our data across global markets. We are a team of data analysts who have effective relationships with other teams and are committed to deliver best quality data. As a Data Research Analyst in the Data Division, you will work closely with the Global Data Team and Local Business Representatives, taking responsibility for data coverage, quality, and timeliness to the highest standards. The Operation Data Analyst will form closer links with providers related to data acquisition processes and gain knowledge of our database. The position will be based in our Data and Development Center EMEA in Madrid and will report to the Associate Data Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Actively collect & Process managed investment data using Morningstar collection systems, and ensure data timelines, completeness, and accuracy to meet business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the global data teams.
  • Data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations & different fund structures.
  • Manage business relationships with fund companies. Connecting with providers & setting up acquisition channels for complex and more advance data as well as acting as a point of escalation.
  • Meet the predetermined production deadlines for internal and external clients.
  • Continuously evaluate procedures, create and enhance analytical tools, and implement process improvement projects.
  • Utilize project management methodologies such as LEAN Six Sigma to track, evaluate and determine resolution approach for complex data issues.
  • Demonstrate a high sense of ownership of the issues in the data ticket queue to be responsive and provide timely updates, follow-up, expedition, and resolution.
  • Understand roles, responsibilities, and expertise of internal partners to expedite issue resolution.
  • Translate requests from internal clients into detailed written specifications and user stories.
  • Improve and document client use cases to ensure any new functionality meets and exceeds client expectations
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills. Fluent in English and Italian is required
  • fluency in another European language is a plus (German, French, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Spanish, Portuguese).
  • Collaborates well in a team environment, have the ability to communicate and work with team members from diverse backgrounds, in a conscientious and inclusive way.
  • Be client centric.
  • Solid understanding of the financial industry and passionate about investment data.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling high volumes of data and meeting strict deadlines.

Base Salary Compensation Range

EUR 29.000,00-39.000,00

Bonus Target

5% Annual

We expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
