Morningstar in Madrid is seeking an Associate Data Research Analyst fluent in English and multiple languages to support global financial data accuracy across markets. You will work with the Global Data Team and Local Business Representatives to acquire and manage data, meeting deadlines and delivering high‑quality content for Empower Investors.

You will develop analytics tools, use Lean Six Sigma approaches, and translate client requests into clear specifications.

Formación

• Fluent in English and at least two other languages.

• Experience with project management approaches, Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

About This Role

Location: Madrid, Spain

We’re looking for driven German, French, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Thai, Japanese and Korean speakers to join our team as an Associate Data Research Analyst. We are a team of data analysts taking pride in delivering top‑quality financial data to Empower Investors’ Success.

In this role, you will work closely with the Global Data Team and Local Business Representatives to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data across global markets, collaborating with a dynamic team and gaining expertise in data acquisition and management. What You’ll Do

• Collaborate closely with the global data teams
• Act as the data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations and different fund structures
• Manage business relationships with fund companies, connecting with providers, setting up acquisition channels and acting as a point of escalation
• Meet the predetermined production deadlines for internal and external clients
• Continuously evaluate procedures, create and enhance analytical tools, and implement process improvement projects
• Utilize project management methodologies such as LEAN Six Sigma to track, evaluate and determine resolution approach for complex data issues
• Collect and maintain Morningstar data, ensuring high levels of data accuracy, completeness and coverage
• Demonstrate a high sense of ownership of the issues in the data ticket queue to be responsive and provide timely updates, follow‑up, expedition and resolution
• Understand roles, responsibilities and expertise of internal partners to expedite issue resolution
• Translate requests from internal clients into detailed written specifications and user stories
• Improve and document client use cases to ensure new functionality meets and exceeds client expectations

Who You Are

• Multilingual Communicator: You are fluent in English and at least two other languages (e.g., Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Italian, Portuguese, Thai, Japanese or Korean), enabling effective interaction with providers from different countries and collaboration across international markets.
• Team Player with Client Focus: You excel in collaborative environments, build strong relationships with team members from diverse backgrounds and address client needs with empathy and attention.
• Detail‑Oriented Data Enthusiast: Passionate about the financial industry and investment data, you bring a solid understanding of data quality, methodologies and processes. Your ability to organize, manage high data volumes and meet deadlines sets you apart.
• Technically Skilled & Proactive: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, you leverage your organizational skills to tackle complex projects. Previous project‑management experience and a knack for operational and performance data make you a valuable asset to any cross‑functional team.

Compensation

• Base Salary Compensation Range: EUR 29,000.00 – 39,000.00
• Bonus Target: 5% Annual
