We are currently looking for an Assistant Payroll Manager.

The Assistant Payroll Manager will assist with the financial consolidation of the Parent and its subsidiaries on a monthly and quarterly basis. This role requires adaptability, a proactive attitude, and hands-on work. The person will coordinate with payroll audit, compliance, and financial contacts outside the U.S., and may assist with general ledger reconciliations and other accounting projects. The role reports to the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Administer payroll for the Spain entity.
  2. Deputize for the Payroll Manager as needed.
  3. Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing, including salary, equity, taxes, and benefits.
  4. Create/update cash forecasts for payroll payments.
  5. Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile accounts.
  6. Manage relationships with payroll vendors, HR, and benefits providers.
  7. Provide documentation for audits.
  8. Implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
  9. Knowledge of consolidations.
  10. Respond to payroll inquiries as a subject matter expert.
  11. Review financial statements and prepare variance analysis.
  12. Assist with global expansion.
  13. Coordinate with service providers for statutory reporting.
  14. Ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
  15. Prepare schedules for external audits.
  16. Perform other special projects as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, with at least 5 years of management experience.
  • Experience with global companies and international compliance.
  • Ownership, curiosity, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Spain tax and employment regulations.
  • Understanding of GDPR and accounting principles.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take ownership.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with NetSuite or other ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  • Foundation Degree in Payroll Management.
  • Experience in a high-tech company.
