This is where you and your skills come in. We’re currently looking for: Assistant Payroll Manager

The Assistant Payroll Manager will be responsible for assisting with maintenance and preparation of the financial consolidation of the Parent and its wholly owned subsidiaries on a monthly and quarterly basis. This person will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptive to changes. This person will have a “can-do” attitude and be able to roll up the sleeves to do hands-on work. This person will coordinate with the main point of contact for payroll audit, compliances, and financial matters related to entities located outside of the United States. This person may also assist with maintaining and reconciling certain general ledger accounts for the subsidiaries, and work with other members of the Accounting Department on other special projects. This person will report to the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Administer all payroll-related items for Spain entity.
  2. Deputize in the absence of Payroll Manager to oversee all duties.
  3. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly payroll, including but not limited to: salary, equity compensation, payroll taxes, statutory and supplemental benefits, etc.
  4. Create/update cash forecasting for monthly and quarterly payroll salary/tax payment requirements.
  5. Monthly payroll journal entries and account reconciliations within required deadlines.
  6. Manage relationships with external Payroll vendors, HR, and benefit providers.
  7. Provide required documentation as requested by company internal and external auditors.
  8. Implement process improvements to increase accuracy and payroll dept efficiency.
  9. Knowledge of consolidations.
  10. Serve as payroll subject matter expert responding to any payroll related inquiries.
  11. Responsible for reviewing Spain financial statements and preparing balance sheet/PL variance analysis for management reporting.
  12. Assist with the global expansion process.
  13. Coordination with third party service providers to fulfill local statutory reporting requirements.
  14. Ensuring compliance with Company accounting policies and the application of US GAAP.
  15. Preparation of schedules for annual/quarterly reviews as required for external auditors.
  16. Be assigned other special projects as required.
Desired Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with minimum 5 years of relevant management experience.
  2. Experience in working in global companies and knowledge of compliances in international subsidiaries is required.
  3. Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills.
  4. Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Must be able to speak English.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Strong time management skills and able to meet competing deadlines.
  9. Results orientation with an ability to collaborate with different individuals across the organization, and “roll-up the sleeves” in order to accomplish all necessary tasks.
  10. Strong knowledge of Spain withholding tax, related tax filings, as well as tax and employment regulations.
  11. Understanding of the requirements of GDPR when handling employee and company data.
  12. Understanding of accounting principles, and the impact of payroll activity on financial statements.
  13. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
  14. Ability to manage fast-paced environment and take ownership of the payroll process quickly.
Nice to Have:
  1. Working knowledge of NetSuite and/or other major ERPs (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  2. FdA license (Foundation Degree in Payroll Management).
  3. Have worked in a high-tech company.
