Assistant Director Offsite Catering- Hotel Arts Barcelona (Barcelona)

Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with Sales, property departments, and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases. Handles events of average complexity, ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service and back. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and enhancements to create outstanding events.

  • Managing Event Logistics and Operations : Ensures events progress smoothly by following procedures, collaborating with staff, and ensuring accuracy. Greets customers during events, hands off to Event Operations, adheres to standards, ensures billing accuracy, manages group room blocks and meeting spaces, identifies operational challenges, and acts as liaison between sales and customers.
  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service : Delivers excellent service, empowers staff, maintains guest relations, communicates event details effectively, oversees customer experience from start to finish, responds to guest issues, and continually seeks service improvements.
  • Leading Event Management Teams : Conducts pre- and post-event meetings, facilitates necessary meetings, and supports team coordination.
  • Supporting Sales and Marketing : Assists in sales processes, revenue forecasting, up-selling, and revenue management for groups.
  • Conducting Human Resources Activities : Reviews guest feedback, observes service behaviors, provides feedback, develops corrective actions, and addresses operational challenges.

Education and Experience : High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of experience in event management or related field, OR a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with at least 1 year of experience.
