Job summary

Julius Baer in Madrid seeks an experienced Middle Office professional to support the Discretionary Business operations for Sicavs and mutual funds. You will oversee trade settlement, cash management, account openings, and regulatory reporting, while coordinating with external administrators and regulators to ensure compliance and service excellence.

The role requires 5+ years in middle office/operations within asset management, strong regulatory knowledge in Spanish funds, and English

Qualifications

• 5+ years in middle office or operations in asset management.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish regulations for mutual funds and Sicavs.
• Operational understanding of trading, settlement, and cash management.
• Ability to support RM/PMs and clients with service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Trade settlement monitoring and Sicav shares trading.
• Cash management, FX, repos, deposits, and corporate actions.
• Account opening with Bloomberg, depositories, NAV system, Allfunds, brokers; client documentation.
• Set up portfolio models: reconciliations, benchmarks, asset classification.
• Sicav & MF shareholders: account opening, maintenance, funding, trading.
• Accounting for Sicavs/Funds per local regulations.
• Daily asset and portfolio valuation; NAV calculation and validation.
• Monitor external administrators, depositaries, brokers and platforms.
• Regulatory and tax reporting for Sicavs and mutual funds.
• Manage GMIS revenues, AUM, and net new money.
• Client reporting: monthly generation, review, delivery.
• Reconciliations: cash, holdings, provisions.
• Billing: calculation, accruals, processing, control.
• Coordinate corporate secretary functions and registry relations.
• Support auditors: annual accounts, compliance, AML, internal audits.
• Liaise with regulators (CNMV, Stock Exchange, Bank of Spain).
• Tax reclaim documentation and follow-up with authorities.
• Support mutual fund distribution for foreign schemes.
