Offer Description

The purpose of the contract is to collaborate on the project's lines of work and implementation, performing the following functions:

  • Updating the planning and design of use cases.
  • Designing and implementing ETL flows for the integration, transformation, and loading of data into the OMOP model.
  • Validating and processing clinical data to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Standardising and mapping clinical and administrative data with international vocabularies (OMOP, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, CIAP-2, ICD-10).
  • Structuring clinical data and generating technical documentation based on interoperability standards.
  • Implementation of interoperable solutions in healthcare environments, ensuring compliance with international standards.
  • Generation of technical documentation, including data validation reports, analysis models and vocabulary standardisation.
  • Training other team members in interoperability models and applied programming languages.
  • Development and validation of clinical data analysis models, including care pathways and predictive risk models.
  • Collaboration with other technical and clinical teams on the integration and scalability of the Data Space.
  • Statistical analysis and model generation

Skills/Qualifications

The required qualifications will be requested in accordance with the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES), namely: Master's degree, Bachelor's degree with 300 or more ECTS credits, Licentiate or equivalent (MECES 3. EQF7).

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus official master's degree in Science, Social and Legal Sciences or Health Sciences.
  • Additional training: Specific certification in Big Data, Health Information Systems, Data Interoperability, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, Harmonisation and/or Cloud Infrastructure Management.

In the case of degrees issued outside Spain but within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), this certification must be accompanied by a simple translation into Spanish or English. In the case of degrees issued outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the degree must be accompanied by a simple translation into Spanish or English, as well as the corresponding certificate of equivalence or credential of homologation to the equivalent degree in Spain, issued by the competent body for the recognition of foreign degrees and qualifications.

Be able to start work on the date determined in the formalisation of the contract if the application is successful. Failure to start work on the specified date will result in the automatic loss of the rights inherent in the contract awarded.

Specific Requirements

  • Experience in planning and executing scientific or technological projects (up to 10 points).
  • Experience in harmonising, validating, and analysing large clinical data sets (maximum 15 points).
  • Participation in national and international consortia related to OMOP and OHDSI (up to 15 points).
  • Knowledge of data processing and analysis tools such as Alteryx, RStudio, Python, Tableau (up to 15 points).
  • Knowledge of epidemiology, cohort analysis and predictive model integration (maximum 5 points).

Additional Information

The salary will be that established in the Collective Agreement of the group of companies of the Biomedical Research Foundations of the SERMAS Social Security Institutions for professional group II, functional area 2, Senior Graduate category for a 20 hours part-time position.

Eligibility criteria

  • Merit assessment phase: Merits related to the position up to a maximum of 60 points.

Shortlisted candidates (who have obtained a minimum of 30 points) may be invited to a personal interview.

  • Skills assessment and interview phase up to a maximum of 40 points

In any case, a minimum score of 50 points must be obtained in all of the above phases in order to be eligible for the position.

Selection process

Applications that meet the requirements and are submitted within the deadline will be examined by an Evaluation Committee composed of three members (a Chair and two members).

The CV will be assessed together with the merits indicated above.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a personal interview.

The merits claimed must be possessed by the deadline for submission of applications and must be duly documented in order to be assessed if deemed necessary.

The position may remain vacant if the candidates presented do not meet the required conditions. Likewise, at the discretion of the Committee, a list (in order of score) of suitable candidates to fill the position may be created in the event that the employment contract with the selected candidate cannot be formalised, and the position may also be left vacant if none of the selected candidates accepts the position.

The evaluation committee will issue the decision.
