Job summary

Flying Wild Hog is seeking an experienced Art Director to shape the game's artistic vision and ensure visual quality across development. You’ll collaborate with the Creative/Game Director and leadership to set the direction and translate it into practical guidelines for internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary game art teams on a shipped AA/AAA title.
• Portfolio demonstrating artistic judgement and leadership with clear contributions.
• Strong understanding of composition, colour, lighting and visual storytelling.
• Ability to translate artistic vision into practical guidance for production.
• Experience directing external art teams or co-development partners.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written, for international teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop the game’s artistic vision in partnership with leadership.
• Translate vision into visual pillars, art bible, briefs and quality benchmarks.
• Maintain artistic coherence across characters, environments, lighting and VFX.
• Lead artistic reviews and provide actionable feedback to raise quality.
• Develop art leads, delegate ownership and mentor teams.
• Collaborate with Design, Narrative, Engineering and Production leadership.
• Balance artistic ambition with budget and delivery constraints.
