A leading technology company in the fashion and retail sector is looking for a Data Architect for a freelance contract in Spain. This role involves hands-on development of data architecture initiatives using technologies like dbt and Airflow. Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of experience with dbt and a strong background in Python, along with familiarity with AWS services and CI/CD workflows. The opportunity offers the flexibility of remote work or occasional on-site collaboration in Barcelona.

We're hiring : Data Architect – Exciting Opportunity in the Fashion & Retail Tech Sector

Location : Remote from Spain or hybrid in Barcelona

Freelance contract : 2 year contract with ability of extension

Languages : Spanish and English B2+

We are looking for a Data Architect to join a dynamic tech team in the fashion & retail sector . This role is focused on hands-on development and ownership of key data architecture initiatives, especially around dbt and Airflow .

What we’re looking for :

2–3+ years of solid, hands-on experience with dbt (must-have)

4+ years of experience with Python or another object-oriented programming language

Proven experience working with Apache Airflow for orchestration

Bonus points for experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, API Gateway, ECR / ECS)

Familiarity with Databricks and / or Snowflake is highly valued

Knowledge of CI / CD workflows, especially using Jenkins and Bitbucket

A proactive mindset, a drive to learn, and strong ownership of technical challenges
