The Application Technical Lead is the technical reference within SGS for our Corporate IT applications, ensuring that software development activities are carried out in accordance with SGS standards and best practices in the market.

This role involves reviewing application development activities, ensuring that deliverables adhere to quality, architecture, and security guidelines, and overseeing the overall quality and fitness of the final products.

The person in this role is responsible for providing technical designs, effort estimates, validating third-party estimates, and overseeing the development estimation process, including validating the workload for various development phases. They may also perform development tasks within their area of responsibility.

Using their technical expertise and following market best practices, they will ensure that technical designs meet SGS and market standards, whether developed internally or by third parties, working closely with the SGS enterprise architecture department.

Specific Responsibilities :

1. Understand in detail the reference standards and best practices defined by the Enterprise Architecture and Security departments to ensure technical design quality and vulnerability compliance.
2. Provide and/or validate technical designs for all application development activities.
3. Ensure developments meet technical and operational requirements such as security, availability, maintainability, and performance, whether through internal development or vendor oversight.
4. Coordinate with the Service Delivery Manager to define and implement technical debt reduction plans for legacy applications.
5. Improve application environment management and deployment processes.
6. Support critical production incident resolution when needed.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT or Computer Science.
2. Excellent understanding of the Software Delivery Life Cycle, Software Architecture, and development best practices.
3. Experience managing requirements throughout the delivery and operational lifecycle.
4. Ability to translate complex technical topics into simple concepts.
5. Broad multi-technology knowledge, focusing on technologies widely used in SGS (e.g., .NET C#, Angular, MS Dynamics, SQL Server, Azure, Java, Spring).
6. At least 5 years of full-stack web application development experience using Microsoft technologies.
7. Strong experience with development methodologies and tools (Agile, DevSecOps, Lean).
8. Knowledge of SAST and SCA tools.
9. Focus on delivery quality and security.
10. Experience working in an international environment.
