Application & support engineer for automation, mechatronics and robotics

This position reports to Engineering Manager.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your knowledge by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects. The work model for the role is: Fully remote. This role is contributing to the RAMA Division (B&R), Application Engineering Department, in Basque Country area, Spain. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Workout concepts and develop application software for machine automation.
• Customer support is our most important responsibility and you will provide support for our entire hardware and software portfolio.
• Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities on customers projects.
• Use your experience and communication skills holding technical customer training courses.
• Become an expert for specialized areas of technology and make this knowledge available to the sales team and to our customers.
• Collaborate effectively with our customers, guiding their projects towards common completion.

Qualifications For The Role

• You have completed a technical education, grade or master’s in engineering, followed by at least 2 years’ experience in software engineering, systems engineering, mechatronics engineering or similar.
• You have experience and confidence using the most common programming languages used in automation.
• Knowledge of motion control, robotics, machine vision and IoT is a plus.
• You enjoy direct customer contact and working in a dynamic team.
• You are motivated, a solution-oriented worker and a networked thinker.
• You are fluent in Spanish and able to communicate in English without any problems.
