Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Solution Architect with expertise in IT Architecture, AWS Cloud Technologies, and data platform implementation. The ideal candidate will possess strong networking knowledge, hands-on experience designing scalable data platforms, and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architectural Design in Cloud Environments: Develop and implement robust IT architecture strategies for cloud and hybrid environments using AWS best practices. Design scalable, secure, and high-availability solutions. Architect and optimize data platforms for efficient data collection, storage, and processing. Manage cloud-native services including compute, storage, databases, and serverless architectures. Ensure cost-efficient cloud usage.
2. Networking Focus: Design and implement secure networking solutions with AWS services such as VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, and CloudFront. Troubleshoot complex networking scenarios, including hybrid cloud setups. Manage network performance and security standards.
3. Data Platform Implementation: Lead the design and development of a global data platform (PaaS). Ensure scalable storage solutions (data lakes, data warehouses). Implement ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Dagster or Airflow. Optimize performance and scalability. Govern data security and compliance.
4. Development & DevOps: Utilize programming skills in Python. Work with Event-Driven Architectures (Kafka). Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible. Implement monitoring with tools like Datadog.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with business units and IT teams to translate requirements into solutions. Act as a technical advisor and contact point for integration.
6. Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices, IAM, data encryption, and secure API design. Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
7. Leadership & Soft Skills: Lead technical teams, mentor junior members, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 7+ years in IT Architecture, with 5+ years in AWS Cloud Technologies
• Experience with data platforms, networking technologies, and security principles
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Networking Specialty) are highly desirable
• Proficiency in networking protocols, infrastructure as code, and problem-solving skills
