API Test Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Design automation testing based on detailed specifications.
2. Review and suggest improvements to existing test procedures.
3. Define test objectives, create test plans, and develop automated test cases and procedures.
4. Present clear and concise test results to management and clients.
5. Analyze test outcomes and coordinate with development teams to address bugs.
6. Conduct training sessions and assist Junior QA Automation Engineers as needed.
7. Identify and raise awareness of process or quality issues.

Essential Skills

• 2-10+ years of experience in API test automation.
• QA automation skills combined with development abilities, capable of writing automation scripts from scratch.
• Proficiency in Postman, including variables, pre-request scripts, authorization, and testing, with hands-on experience using Rest Assured framework.
• Strong knowledge of Java for API automation testing.
• Experience in creating Gherkin scripts based on the Cucumber framework and using BDD frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Bamboo, and AWS.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum processes.
• Proficiency in JIRA for test management.
• Experience in testing and automating Web-Services, with Serenity BDD being a plus.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment processes, with Bamboo experience being advantageous.
• Mandatory proficiency in Spanish and English.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience working in Agile projects.
• Banking sector experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Web and Mobile automation testing.
• Additional test automation certifications are beneficial.
