At Sibelco Minerales, S.L. in Bilbao, we seek a lead accounting professional to join our Country Servicing Business Services Team. You will record transactions, consolidate books and ensure IFRS compliance across the country.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, supporting auditors, and coordinating VAT and tax reporting. A Bachelor in Business/Accounting and IFRS experience are required, with English and Spanish language proficiency.

Qualifikationen

• Prior accounting experience and knowledge of IFRS.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written) and Spanish language.
• Local language of base country and main operations is preferred; other languages are a plus.

Job Description:

Role Purpose:

As member of the Country Servicing Business Services Team, this role is responsible for recording accounting information, enter transactions, consolidate and verify accounting records to assess accuracy and compliance It is the lead accounting role within a country servicing team

Responsibilities:

• Verify accounting records to assess accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies
• Direct and coordinate the preparation of financial reporting according to IFRS, Sibelco Group reporting and statutory requirements
• Summarize financial status by collecting information; prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
• Provide information to auditors
• Manage and coordinate the annual external audit process
• Prepare VAT and other tax reporting
• Manage tax inspections

About you:

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Financeor equivalent by experience
• Prior experience in accounting
• English– proficient verbal & writing
• Local language of the country of base and main operations – proficient verbal & writing
• Other languages are an asset
