Analytics Engineer

Job Title : Analytics Engineer

Location : Fully Remote (within 3 hours of UK time)

Who We Are : Stasher enables you to make the most of your time by connecting you with local shops and hotels that can store your bags worldwide. We operate in over 1,000 towns and cities, from Sydney to London, Rio, and New York.

About the Tech / Team : Our 10-person engineering team, along with data analysts and a data-savvy crew across growth, product, and ops teams, manage our platform data in an AWS environment. We utilize tools like Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and BigQuery for web tracking. Our data approach has been agile and scrappy, enabling data-informed decisions that have led to market leadership and triple-digit growth globally. As we scale, we focus on speed, scalability, and reliability, and we need your expertise to help us grow further.

Who We’re Looking For : We seek an Analytics Engineer to develop a data architecture that supports our rapid growth, providing trustworthy insights for decision-makers. You will design, build, and steward an analytics data layer, collaborating closely with engineering, data analysts, and growth teams to prioritize impactful solutions. Experience in a fast-growing startup environment with strategic data infrastructure ownership is preferred. Data science experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities :

  • Analytics Engineering Leadership : Design and maintain a data layer that enables high-quality decision-making and scales with us. Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to define core datasets and metrics for self-serve analysis via tools like Metabase, Looker Studio, or Sheets.
  • Technical ETL : Build systems to transform raw data from various sources into analytics-optimized structures. Understand differences in data structures and definitions, stitching data together as needed. This role focuses on data modeling and stakeholder needs, not complex backend infrastructure.
  • Horizon Scanning : Keep aligned with product and commercial strategies to ensure data infrastructure readiness. Incorporate industry best practices and emerging AI technologies to enhance our data strategy.
  • Ensure Data Reliability : Own data definitions across the company to ensure a common language for metrics. Partner with engineering teams to automate downstream actions when data is created or changed. Implement data quality tests (e.g., dbt, Great Expectations) and monitor data freshness and failures.
  • Data Science (profile dependent) : Initiate steps toward product personalization, identifying high-leverage problems suitable for data science solutions.

In your first 6 months, you'll...

  • Design and implement the initial analytics layer with dbt, reducing manual data joining for KPIs.
  • Launch a marketing attribution dataset to confidently increase ad spend.
  • Reduce time-to-insight for product experiments, enabling faster decision cycles.

What We’re Looking For :

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering with modern tools (e.g., dbt, Google Tag Manager, BigQuery, Fivetran).
  • Experience owning or leading data engineering strategy, or readiness to step into such a role.
  • Startup or scale-up experience is a plus, with comfort working in fast-paced, autonomous environments.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to align technical decisions with business goals and stakeholder needs.

Benefits :

  • Stock Options : Share in our success.
  • Holidays : 25 days plus bank holidays, plus 1 additional day per year.
  • Flexible Working : Core hours 10–5 GMT, fully remote, up to 2 months work-from-anywhere annually.
  • Learning & Equipment Budget : Support for your growth and tools.
  • Collaborative Culture : Join a diverse, international team that values innovation and continuous improvement.
