An independent impact investment firm is seeking an Analyst to manage portfolio and investment-level data in Madrid. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in private equity or debt investments, strong analytical skills, and business fluency in English. Responsibilities include managing asset valuations and supporting investment operations. This role is within a highly entrepreneurial organization focused on impactful investment strategies.

Formación

  • Experience in fund operations and controlling.

We are seeking a professional (Analyst) who will support Investment Operations of BlueEarth's existing and future fund vehicles and investments. The successful candidate will independently oversee strategic fund & investment data and internal reporting in collaboration with internal teams, the funds’ third-party administrators and other service providers. In this position you will work with internal and external stakeholders, as well as represent BlueEarth and its fund vehicles.

The position reports to BlueEarth's Fund Operations Manager and Investment Operations Manager (dual reporting line).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage core portfolio and investment-level data to support the downstream controlling of BlueEarth fund vehicles’ accounts and Portfolio Management advice team on:

    • Investment valuation management: monthly, quarterly and semi-annual asset valuations coordination & control (per asset type requirements)

    • Internal Investment Book of Records (IBOR) management: record-keeping of all investment-level transactions - direct credit, equity & co-investments and funds (primaries & secondaries), including SPVs where relevant

    • Internal LP cashflow record-keeping of all product-level investor transactions

    • Manage portfolio and investment-level systems (iLevel and eFront) as SME (Subject Matter Expert) representative to support maintenance of internal IBOR and in-system dashboard platform views

  • As the role develops, you will be involved in: Loan administration (eFront), IBOR reconciliation, fund expense management & reconciliation, Investor transactions management, fund counterparty management

  • Represent the internal IBOR, portfolio and investment-level systems and identify opportunities for improvement:

    • Maintain, develop, and document processes, deliverables and related directives & policies (e.g. IBOR procedure manual, Product Cash Management Policy)

    • Represent BlueEarth with internal and external stakeholders on investment queries, including supporting Investor Relations on addressing investor inquiries where relevant


We are looking for a professional with the ability and willingness to excel within a highly entrepreneurial organization.

The successful candidate should have:

  • 2-3 years of relevant professional work experience in private markets or private equity/debt investments

  • Understanding of private equity-specific accounting (e.g. fund lifecycle, closings, capital calls/distributions, carried interest, valuations)

  • Experience/track record in fund operations/controlling/accounting

  • Proficiency in Excel; experience of eFront and/or iLevel is an advantage but not a necessity

  • Excellent academic credentials with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or similar; or professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • Self-motivated and proactive team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong attention to detail

  • Excellent analytical, inter-personal, and written communication skills

  • Business fluency in written and spoken English is required
