We announce one PhD position within the TRansient Plasmas in Planetary Atmospheres (TRAPPA) group at the IAA - CSIC in Granada, Spain.
The PhD project focuses on investigating atmospheric electricity phenomena, specifically the chemical role of lightning in the atmosphere, using optical measurements, chemical data, and modeling tools like WRF.
The position is for 3 years with a possible extension, starting ideally in September 2025, with full social security coverage and a gross salary of 1600 EUR/month.
Analysis of Meteosat Third Generation data, investigating lightning and chemical pollution correlations, using models and ground/space measurements.
Living expenses in Granada are lower than in other parts of Spain. The candidate must register as a doctoral student at the University of Granada by early September 2025 if not already enrolled.
Applicants can apply even if they do not yet have their Master’s degree, provided they will have it by early September 2025.
