We announce one PhD (doctoral) position within the TRansient Plasmas in Planetary Atmospheres (TRAPPA) group at the IAA - CSIC in Granada, Spain.
This PhD position aims to investigate atmospheric electricity phenomena, focusing on the role of lightning in atmospheric chemistry, utilizing optical measurements, ground-based lightning data, chemical measurements from satellite instruments, and atmospheric modeling tools.
The research involves analyzing data from Meteosat Third Generation satellites, the Atmospheric Space Interaction Monitor (ASIM) on the ISS, and employing the Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) to study regional and global atmospheric chemical pollution.
The position offers a full-time employment contract for 3 years, with a possible extension of 1 year, starting around September 16, 2025. The gross salary is 1600 EUR/month with 14 payments, and full social security coverage is provided.
