We announce one PhD position within the TRansient Plasmas in Planetary Atmospheres (TRAPPA) group at the IAA - CSIC in Granada, Spain.
The PhD project focuses on atmospheric electricity phenomena, especially lightning's chemical role, using optical measurements from space and ground, chemical measurements from instruments onboard the Meteosat Third Generation satellites, and atmospheric modeling with the WRF model. Data from the Atmospheric Space Interaction Monitor (ASIM) on the ISS will also be utilized.
The position is for 3 years, with a possible extension, starting ideally in September 2025. The employment includes full social security coverage.

The gross monthly salary is €1600, with 14 payments annually. Living expenses in Granada are relatively low. Applicants planning to complete their Master by September 2025 are encouraged to apply, provided they register as doctoral students at the University of Granada by then.
