Offer Description
We announce one PhD (doctoral) position within the TRansient Plasmas in Planetary Atmospheres (TRAPPA) group at the IAA - CSIC in Granada, Spain.
This PhD position focuses on investigating atmospheric electricity phenomena, especially lightning's chemical role, using data from space- and ground-based measurements, and modeling tools like the WRF model.
The candidate will analyze data from instruments onboard the Meteosat Third Generation satellites, ground lightning networks, and the Atmospheric Space Interaction Monitor (ASIM) onboard the ISS, among others.
We offer a full-time employment as a PhD student for 3 years, with a possible extension, starting ideally on September 16, 2025. The position includes full social security coverage.
