At Qurv, we create a paradigm shift in computer vision-based applications (automotive, XR, and robotics) by developing mass-deployable infrared image sensors that can enable machines to see better and more, unlocking new functionalities.
We are looking for a world-class analog IC designer to join our Barcelona-based team and work together to push the limits of Qurv’s wide-spectrum image sensor technology. You will be working closely with product, process, and integration functions. Your expertise in designing low-noise, miniaturized analog read-out chains in CMOS will bring Qurv's technology platform to the next level.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, and verify wide-spectrum image sensor in-pixel CMOS read-out circuitry with optimal performance and functionality compatible with customer requirements.
- Collaborate with process engineering teams to develop new pixel read-out designs compatible with our QSTACKTM thin-film process technology.
- Conduct rigorous simulations and analyses to predict and optimize pixel behavior and performance under various conditions.
- Interact with CMOS foundries to choose the optimal technology node, work with PDKs, and ensure compatibility with customer specifications and QSTACK technology.
- Iteratively refine pixel designs based on simulation results to achieve desired performance metrics, such as sensitivity, quantum efficiency, noise characteristics, and dynamic range.
- Develop and implement test structures for characterizing pixel performance and validating design simulations.
- Engage in the optimization of pixel layout, circuitry, architecture, and process to enhance performance metrics and manufacturing yield.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of pixel designs into the overall image sensor systems.
Requirements
- Proficiency in utilizing EDA tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Design Compiler) and TCAD software for CMOS image sensor design, simulation, and verification.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and CMOS fabrication processes.
- Proven track record in designing and optimizing small pitch CMOS image sensor pixels for performance metrics such as quantum efficiency, sensitivity, noise, and dynamic range.
- Experience in developing test structures and methodologies for pixel characterization and validation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, process engineering, integration, and device functions.
- Ability to collaborate with external stakeholders such as customers or technology providers.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or a related field.
