The Payments Team

The goal of the Payments team is to enable revenue generation for the entire Proton ecosystem. This comes in the form of introducing new payment methods for users to architecting our client libraries. This team has impact across all of Proton's products and is critical to the success of the business as a whole.

1. As Proton is a global Company, the Payments Team works to continuously expand the possibilities for users to pay with various payment methods, beyond just plain credit cards or Paypal.
2. The team works in tight collaboration with the Account Team, the Proton Finance team, and every single Business Unit to ensure that plans, promotions and pricing meet user expectations.
3. The mission of the team is to empower anyone in the world who wishes to use Proton services, to become a Proton subscriber by building enticing interfaces and providing the methods and tooling allowing users to pay.

Purpose of the role :

You will be the main Senior Android Engineer building our payments solution which plays a key part of the Proton product ecosystem. You must be capable of building a highly secure and reliable Android app that will be used by millions from around the world. You will have the opportunity to play Product or Project Managers roles and lead the whole development and testing process.

Job requirements :

1. Deep experience with Kotlin.
2. Deep understanding of advanced Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
3. Deep experience designing and integrating with RESTful API's.
4. Experience with various third-party libraries and SDK's.
5. Experience with secure coding practices.
6. Able to operate in a fast environment with teammates in other continents.
7. Excellent English communications, both written and spoken.
8. Familiarity with cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin), payment systems, and blockchain technology.
9. Knowledge of Rust.
