Formación

Join the NHS Ayrshire & Arran as an Allied Health Professionals Support Worker

We are offering a permanent, part-time position (0.9 WTE hours per week) within the State Hospitals AHP team. The role involves working in a secure forensic mental health environment, supporting a diverse team of Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists, and Arts Therapists.

The successful candidate will work across various hospital sites, including wards, hubs, the Skye Centre, and the hospital grounds, providing patient-centered interventions and supporting rehabilitation and recovery efforts. The role also involves health promotion activities within local and national policies.

Responsibilities
  1. Support patients with their rehabilitation and engagement in treatment plans.
  2. Work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver interventions.
  3. Participate in health improvement and health promotion initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a health-related/AHP area.
  • Experience working in a mental health setting.
  • Experience with group work and one-on-one patient interactions.
  • Motivated and committed to working with patients with mental health diagnoses and/or intellectual disabilities in secure care.
Additional Details

Salary includes AfC Band 4, a High Secure Environmental Allowance (£1,750.47 per annum), and a High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance (£4,201.29 per annum).
