Working in the AIT Team

This team is the workshop for Open Cosmos satellite missions! We provide engineering support during the design phase, then actually build and test the satellite — it doesn’t get much cooler than this!

What will you be doing?

You will manufacture some of the subsystems and harnesses that will be integrated into the satellites. You will also support prototyping and modifications of electronics boards and harnesses. Travel to other locations may be required to support workload punctually.

You will support aspects related to quality and stock management, maintaining clear and appropriate documentation. Throughout all stages, you will engage with colleagues from R&D and AIT departments.

What you need to be successful

  • Ability to meticulously inspect PCB assemblies to ECSS standards.
  • Proficiency in harness fabrication techniques conforming to ECSS/IPC-620 standards.
  • Expertise in crimping and soldering various connectors, including M80/G125, Micro-D, and Nano-D, for both standard and shielded cables.
  • Comfort using soldering irons, PCA heaters, and hot air rework stations.
  • Understanding of working in a clean room environment and applying this knowledge.
  • Proactive and curious approach, always seeking more effective ways of working.
