Mindmatch busca un AI Tech Lead para liderar el programa de IA en Barcelona. Es una posición híbrida con 1–2 días en sitio y contrato de 6 meses o más, con inglés y español obligatorios.

Se requiere experiencia práctica en RAG, IA generativa y desarrollo backend en Azure, capaces de guiar un squad de hasta 6 ingenieros y garantizar alta disponibilidad.

Formación

• Más de 7 años de experiencia relevante en IA y liderazgo técnico.
• Experiencia comprobada dirigiendo squads de IA.
• Diseño y entrega de soluciones de IA en entornos cloud.
• Experiencia práctica con RAG y IA generativa.
• Fuerte desarrollo de backend y APIs.
• Experiencia avanzada en Azure: Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, OpenAI.
• Conocimiento sólido de LLMs y prompt engineering.

Responsabilidades

• Liderar un squad de IA de hasta 6 ingenieros.
• Definir estándares técnicos, prácticas y guías de arquitectura para soluciones IA.
• Diseñar y supervisar sistemas backend y APIs compatibles con IA en Azure.
• Impulsar capacidades IA avanzadas (RAG, LLMs, Speech-to-Text, IDP como plus).
• Arquitectar soluciones en la nube con servicios Azure.
• Realizar revisiones de código y mentoría técnica.
• Servir de interfaz técnica entre el squad y stakeholders.
• Monitorear rendimiento, definir confiabilidad y observabilidad.
• Mantenerse actualizado y traducir tendencias a iniciativas del squad.

AI Tech Lead - Gen AI, RAG & Azure

Duration: 6 months+

Location: Barcelona / Hybrid

Languages: Spanish + English (Both mandatory)

We are looking for an AI Tech Lead to join the AI program of one of our clients in Barcelona. The role is hybrid, with 1 to 2 days on-site for a 6 months+ contract where English and Spanish are both mandatory. The ideal candidate is likely a hands-on Generative AI Engineer, Backend Engineer, or Cloud Solution Architect with a Software development background who has progressed into technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional AI squad of up to 6 engineers, ensuring alignment on technical direction, priorities, and delivery timelines.
• Define and enforce technical standards, best practices, and architecture guidelines for AI solutions across the squad.
• Design and oversee scalable backend systems and APIs supporting AI solutions in Azure.
• Drive the integration of advanced AI capabilities, mainly RAG, plus LLMs, speech-to-text, computer vision, and IDP as a plus.
• Architect and validate cloud-based AI solutions leveraging Azure services such as Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, Azure Key Vault, and Azure OpenAI.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical mentoring, and support upskilling within the squad.
• Act as the technical interface between the squad and stakeholders including Product Owner, Data Scientists, frontend developers, and business teams.
• Monitor system performance, define reliability and observability standards, and ensure high availability of AI deployments.
• Stay current on Generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering trends and translate them into actionable squad initiatives.

Must have

• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience leading AI engineering squads.
• Strong background in designing and delivering end-to-end AI solutions in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with RAG and Generative AI.
• Strong backend systems and API development experience.
• Strong Azure experience , including Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, Azure Key Vault, and Azure OpenAI.
• Solid knowledge of LLMs and prompt engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with speech-to-text solutions.
• Experience with computer vision.
• Experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
