We are looking for an AI Platform Engineer with expertise in Python and Terraform to join our new Enterprise AI platform team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-impact, highly technical group focused on solving some of the most challenging machine learning problems in the Life Sciences & Healthcare industry. You will bring proven experience in AWS cloud environments and a strong track record of designing and deploying large-scale production infrastructure and platforms.

You will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable infrastructure for AI and machine learning solutions. A strong command of Python and Terraform is essential, as you'll be building and automating cloud-native components, managing infrastructure as code, and integrating ML workflows into production environments.

The ideal candidate for this role can be based anywhere in Spain, with a requirement of occasional travel to Barcelona to collaborate more closely with the team.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain the essential infrastructure and platform required to deploy, monitor, and manage ML solutions in production, ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability.
2. Collaborate closely with data science teams in developing cutting-edge data science, AI/ML environments, and workflows on AWS.
3. Liaise with R&D data scientists to understand their challenges and help productionize ML pipelines, models, and algorithms for innovative science.
4. Take responsibility for all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, QA, and maintenance.
5. Lead technology processes from concept development to completion of project deliverables.
6. Liaise with other teams to enhance our technological stack and enable the adoption of the latest advances in Data Processing and AI.

Requirements

• Strong software coding skills, with proficiency in Python; exceptional ability in any language will be recognized.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Significant experience with AWS cloud environments, including SageMaker, Athena, S3, EC2, RDS, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EKS, and ECS.
• Modern DevOps mindset, using tools such as Docker and Git.
• Experience managing an enterprise platform and handling new client demands and feature requests.
• Experience with containers and microservice architectures like Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless approaches.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, e.g., GitHub Actions and CodeBuild.
• GxP experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale data processing pipelines (Hadoop/Spark, SQL).
• Use of Data Science tools such as R, Python, and Jupyter notebooks.
• Multi-cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Knowledge of building MLOps environments to production standards.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, and supporting colleagues and clients.
• Experience with SAFe agile principles and practices.
